Connected systems do not automatically create connected responsibility.
A workflow can move successfully between people, organisations and software while the responsibility record becomes fragmented. When something later needs to be relied upon, investigated or defended, the organisation may have activity logs but no independently reconstructable account of who held the responsibility and why.
Responsibility Infrastructure addresses that boundary by standardising the minimum meaning that must be preserved and exchanged. The Protocol remains technology-neutral and does not require a particular API, data format, ledger, cryptographic system, database or software stack.
